Hello World --

I am of the opinion that I am a terrible storyteller. Details get mixed together with the pictures that play in my mind and I lose track of the important parts.

At the promptings of some members of the family, however, I have decided to create this blog to document my studies and travels. I will back date some entries as I have time to write them and put up pictures to go along. Hopefully I'll make it back as far as Alaska, but it will depend on what time allows.

Currently, I am applying for a NSF graduate research fellowship that is due November 6. November 6 I also ship out for Antarctica Part III -- the grad school part. I will be spending about a couple days in New Zealand, then ship out for McMurdo. There, I will participate in Snow School (re: extreme environment survival training) and then ship out to the Lake Hoare camp in the Taylor Dry Valley where I will be until around Christmas.

I will hopefully be able to keep this coherent and up to date!

Leave comments if you read, as it will give me impetus to continue (:
